Commercial disputes in Bodrum
Companies and individuals, including foreign businesses, can discuss a commercial dispute in English: an unpaid amount, a delivery or service problem, the termination of a business relationship or a disagreement between partners. The initial review sets out the documents, the claim and the available routes.
The initial work in a commercial dispute identifies the outcome sought and the relationship between the parties. An unpaid amount, delivery or service problem, termination or a shareholder matter may raise different legal questions. The documents, business records and sequence of events are assessed together.
Claims and evidence
Contracts, proposals, orders, invoices, delivery and acceptance records, account reconciliations and correspondence are compared. Agreed terms are distinguished from disputed matters. The review identifies the transaction shown by each record, missing documents and questions requiring technical or financial expert input.
Notices, discussions and settlement
A proposed notice is assessed for the scope of the demand, contractual requirements and possible consequences. Discussions and settlement proposals consider payment, delivery, security and continuation of the relationship together. The claims covered by an agreement, remaining obligations and potential non-performance require careful assessment.
Proceedings and immediate needs
Mediation, court proceedings or another application requires review of the legal nature of the claim, the appropriate court or forum, parties and time limits. If evidence may be lost or urgent protection is needed, the relevant requirements are assessed separately. As proceedings develop, reports, decisions and new documents are compared with the file as a whole. Appeal options are considered against the particular decision.
Documents for the initial review
A short chronology of the relationship, problems and previous steps can be provided with agreements, business records, payment and delivery documents, notices, application records and existing decisions. The client’s objectives concerning continuation or termination of the business relationship should also be identified.
